22. Lamont-Doherty Core Repository
The Lamont-Doherty Core Repository (LDCR) houses a world-renowned collection of geologic samples from the ocean floor. The collection consists mainly of sediment cores and dredged rocks with a global distribution; sub-samples are available to researchers worldwide. The LDCR also has several analytical tools that can be used by researchers at Columbia and beyond including: XRF, XRD and X-Radiography capabilities, Coulometry, Grain Size and Density measurements, and more.
