12. OpenSpecimen

The VP&S Office for Research has invested in OpenSpecimen, a comprehensive biospecimen management system. OpenSpecimen is a web-based system that tracks the entire biobank workflow including patient registration and consent, sample collection, processing, storage, and distribution. It is highly configurable and is managed centrally through our BMIR analysts’ team.

Services provided by the BMIR team include configuring workflows based on biobank’s needs, creating custom reports, training end-users, and providing support.
