29. METAL Lab

The METAL Lab is one of the key laboratories in the country conducting metallomics analyses. It performs high-sensitivity measurements of over 30 trace elements in urine, blood, tissue, and vesicles, and is leading in speciation analysis of arsenic and selenium. Metallomics analyses help understand the biological roles of metals, relevant for research in epidemiology, preventive medicine, clinical chemistry, animal science, and many more. Our analytical facility includes three mass spectrometers and specialized equipment for sample preparation.
