Exposure Assessment Core in the NIEHS Center for Environmental Health in North Manhattan

Environmental Exposure Assessment Lab Leader: Steven Chillrud, Ph.D
Allergen and Exhaled Breath Lab Leader: Matt Perzanowski, Ph.D
Trace Organics Lab Leader: Beizhan Yan, Ph.D

The overall goals of the Facility are to design exposure assessments in support of research by Center investigators, pilot studies and community groups, to provide sampling and/or analytical capabilities for a wide range of environmental samples (air, water, soil, etc), and to train study staff, students and post-docs in advanced exposure assessment methods.  This Core facility combines study design, methods development, sample collection and instrument design/validation, and analytical capabilities of the labs, including the Allergen and Exhaled Breath Laboratory (MSPH), the Environmental Exposure Assessment Lab (LDEO), and the Trace Organics Lab (LDEO). All of the lab and study design leaders provide consultation for planning grants on exposure study design, sample collection, and analysis methods, as appropriate.
